Delicious Punjabi Food at Made in Punjab, Gurgaon

I don’t fancy eating bhelpuri and golgappa in a seemingly posh restaurant. But there was something different about these street-food delights served at the Bhel Bar inside the newly opened Made in Punjab restaurant in Gurgaon. I recommend this one for its quality, variety and innovations. It’s not a typical Punjabi restaurant. Location: I love its location. I hate Gurgaon but I quite like the idea of an open mall amidst the monstrous, gigantic buildings (they will eat me up alive one day, I feel!). It’s actually just the open space (DLF Cyber Hub) between Infinity Towers and Hero BPO that has been brilliantly utilized as a food mall. Ambience:…

Christmas Celebrations at The Imperial, New Delhi

If you are looking for a dessert idea for your Christmas party, may we recommend a pizza? A dessert pizza! Imagine a chocolate base with a layer of Philadelphia cheese topped with nuts & raisins soaked in brandy… We got a taste of this sinful indulgence at the wonderful Christmas soirée, organized at The Imperial New Delhi. While the Flambéd Chocolate Pizza was the highlight, there were other recipes too shared by the talented chefs. Cooking lessons being only one part of the fun, there were delicious snacks, wine, goodies from Santa, and delightful conversations to make it a perfect pre-Christmas party. Thanks to the lovely team (or should I…

This restaurant has a unique style for calling a waiter!

Located on the main road, in Rajouri Garden, ‘Garam Dharam – Dhaba te Theka’ is one of its kind in Rajouri Garden. The restaurant is dedicated to the He-Man of Indian cinema or the Action King of the Bollywood — Dharmendra. The two-floored restaurant has walls decorated with the highlights and dialogues from different movies of Dharmendra- from the classic ‘Sholay’ to ‘Fauji’ to ‘Hathyar’. Along with this, the background music is also taken from the actor’s movies. The theme is so real that it seems like a flashback of the movies in front of your eyes in just a few seconds itself. In the evenings, the entrance will be well…

Restaurant Review: Pind Balluchi, Rajouri Garden

When you’re looking to dine out at a North Indian restaurant, one name that’s surely going to pop up in your list is Pind Balluchi. Well known all over the country for its ‘Punjabi’ food and ambiance, it has outlets in cities including Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Patna, and Bhopal. Pind Balluchi, as the name suggests, is designed with a touch of pind (village), and accompanied with a folklore-oriented theme. It has a staid door and the doorman is dressed in a traditional outlook which gives the visitors, complete cultural vibes. Even the waiters are dressed in kurta pyjama; the ambience is amazing, with the food being served in bronze crockery.…

That’s Cool: Kulfiwala Comes to Chennai!

Review by Nikita Chawla Everyone loves desserts. Especially those who resides in Chennai, a city that’s sultry most of the year. Whilst several options of summer coolers such as colas, ice-creams and mocktails are mostly sought after, the traditional Indian desserts of Mumbai, the rich and creamy kulfis have made their way into Chennai’s platter. Adding to the list of dessert spaces in Chennai is Kulfiwala which recently opened its doors at its store at Moores Road, Chennai. The Décor: Located on the first floor, Kulfiwala shares space with KC Das. The little space is done in bright white and amber lighting that sets a peaceful ambience. The white earthen pots…

This restaurant serves one of the best buffets in NCR

There was a time when sector 18 market in Noida was a “happening” hangout place for us. There were latest coffee shops, the best of restaurants, a very happening Centre Stage Mall and of course, Elevate – the famous night club. But at the heart of the market was a hidden gem; subtle yet luxurious, at the same time possessing a strong character. That gem is Radisson Blu MBD Hotel. While the market seems to have lost lustre, this hotel hasn’t. Perhaps it is befitting that at its heart, Radisson Blu MBD Noida hides a gem of a restaurant named S18 — an homage to the glorious market where the hotel…

A Weekend in the Orchard of Simplicity!

Her ingenuous laughter urged me to keep aside the book I was reading and step outside our gorgeous canopy. I stood there in silence as I saw the reason for all her euphoria. My mother and sister were engrossed in conversation and hence there was no one stopping her from getting her hands dirty with sand. “Come see my little castle,” my two-year-old niece called me, still jumping with joy. Of course, the castle was only in her imagination yet it left me marveling at her. Leaving inside all her expensive toys, little Samaira was filled with happiness with something as basic as sand! I have always believed in the power…

Sun, Sea & Smiles at One&Only Le Saint Géran!

A detailed review of our visit to One&Only Le Saint Geran, Mauritius…   As I sit here on the beach, in a state of transcendence, nature speaks to me; the waves, the swaying trees, the sand that sticks to my feet, they all seem to say only one thing – that God is an artist. Romance, passion, adventure, love, fertility and prosperity are his colours…he paints on a magnanimous canvas and what results is the beautiful island of Mauritius. The island that withholds the power to make you a poet, a lover, an artist maybe. In my opinion, One&Only Le Saint Geran is to Mauritius what the beautiful night sky…
