10 Reasons Why You Should Go For A Walk

It is free. It does not require any membership. You can easily fit it into your daily routine. Yet walking is the most underrated exercise. From helping you lose weight to boosting your creativity, walking offers several benefits. Take a look:

1. Burn Calories

Does walking help you lose weight? The answer to that is yes and no. Any physical activity, such as walking, helps you burn calories. But you won’t lose any weight if you are going to feast on donuts or samosa after walking for an hour thinking you deserve it! If you brisk walk for 30 minutes, you’re likely to burn about 100 to 200 calories depending on your weight. (1 donut has over 450 calories and a samosa about 308 calories, just FYI). Rewards yourself with nutritious low-calorie food for weight loss.

2. Helps Lower Your Blood Sugar

A 15-minute walk after every meal is said to lower blood sugar level. According to The American Diabetes Association, walking also helps lower the overall risk of diabetes

3. Improves Mood

Had a fight with your spouse? Go for walk in the park and you are guaranteed to come back with a better mood đŸ˜‰ Well, there’s plenty of research to prove that walking can improve your mood as it has a positive effect on your nervous system. Talking about how exercise relieves anxiety and depression, psychologists say a 10-minute walk could equal a 45-minute workout when it comes to relieving the symptoms of anxiety..
