M'bessy Restaurant & Bar: Review

‘Grand’ is the word that comes to mind as soon as you enter M’Bessy. From the chairs to the chandeliers and cutlery & napkins, everything speaks a royal launguage. M’Bessy derived from Embassy is a “Republic of Gastronomy” transforming the customer into a splendid world of great food and drinks. The resto-bar houses a furnished vintage European dining area in the ground floor and a contemporary lounge bar in the first floor.

Begin with the lip-smacking starters of chicken, prawns, eggplant, broccoli and meat balls. While you wait for your main course to arrive, don’t forget to take a bite into the chicken steak, where grilled chicken breasts are stuffed with a variety of masala and spices. Served with salad, this dish is leaves you crave for more. You can then move to the 12-inch thin crust pizza that’s one half barbecue chicken and one half caramelised onion, blue cheese and basil.

Or you can simply go for the Pizza Bianca, a thin crusted pizza with tomatoes, mushrooms, capsicums and other veggies. This is surely one of the best pizzas in Chennai. All of these come straight from their very own live pizza station. While the base is too slender to hold, we don’t mind it for the taste it provides. After the hearty meal, finish your meal with the deconstructed tiramisu where you can scoop up the mascarpone, kahlua-soaked sponge and whipped cream in whatever ratio you like.

The classy bar at M’Bessy, presenting the six best bartenders in the country, offers signature cocktails and punches.
