Treat Yourself with a Chocolate Spa!

What’s better than a relaxing treatment at a spa? A chocolate spa! I went to the Vyoma spa at Radisson Blu, Paschim Vihar on a mid-summer afternoon for a refreshing choco scrub. Please note, the treatment is available only during summers.

Spread over 10,000 sq ft, Vyoma Spa at this hotel is huge. The reception area, however, does not give the impression of how far and wide it is spread. But then you get in and see the treatment rooms spread out. What impresses me more is the fact that the steam & shower space is within the rooms and one does not need to go to a separate wet area. I know a number of people who shy away from the spas because they’re too reticent to walk around in bathroom robe! The spa here is an absolute delight for those apprehensive spa goers.

Using coco powder, milk proteins, de-tan powder and essential oils, the chocolate spa treatment promises relaxation while removing body tan. The aroma of pure chocolate is a bonus! Worry not, the fragrance does not make you hungry but is strong enough to help you relax.

I began the treatment with a steam session for about 15 minutes, after which came the foot ritual followed by a quick massage. It’s always good to let the masseuse know which area you want her to focus on; I always insist on deep massage on my neck and shoulders.

After relaxing my muscles, the masseuse carried the next step: a gentle scrub. The masseuse highlighted the benefits of the scrub pointing out that the caffeine present in chocolate stimulates the circulation and improves blood flow. This in turn improves and invigorates skin cells, decreases the aging process and increases firmness of the skin.

After a quick warm water shower, I am readied for the chocolate mask. I rest for almost 20-25 minutes after the mask is applied and I am wrapped so that my skin absorbs the mask. The head massage meanwhile relaxed me to almost doze off. A warm shower revealed a glowing and exceedingly smooth skin.

Go for this spa treatment for an afternoon of complete rejuvenation and relaxation!
