Restaurant Review: Cafe Public Connection
People in the know of Delhi’s food scene need no introduction to restauranter Umang Tewari. For the uninitiated, he is the man behind all the “cool” restaurants in Delhi like The Vault Cafe, Garam Dharam, Out of the Box, Skooter, Raas and many others. The latest addition to the list is Cafe Public Connection, which is co-owned by Neeraj Kumar.
As the name suggests, the concept is centered around connectivity. Highlighting the concept are telephone booths, maps, globe sketches, post box and several other decor quirks all around the restaurant.
There are about 6 different private dining rooms with distinct themes like sports, retro, Hollywood etc. Great idea for small parties/get togethers.
The food menu is as varied — from Lebanese to Italian, Continental to Indian, it has it all. We were invited for the launch event where we tasted the set menu comprising of various starters and pasta & biryani. The place is more about enjoying the ambiance and we did just that instead of judging it for its food. However, we liked the wide variety of options available in the menu.
The drinks menu looks very interesting with cocktails like Charlie Chaplin Cocktail, Mind n Soul Refuel Can (jager with white rum and vodka with peppermint & coke), Red Wine Summit (red wine punch with vodka & white rum).
We’d pick this place for an evening out with friends for a couple of drinks with some good music. But not when we want to catch up over conversations and delectable food.
Cost: Rs 1500 for two approx.
