Nando’s, CP: Peri Peri Delicious!

Think Nando’s, think Peri Peri. The most addictive dish at the restaurant is the Peri-Peri chicken available in different levels of spices. You can enjoy your meal with a variety of sauces available, from Wild Herb Peri-Peri Sauce, Garlic Peri-Peri Sauce to the medium, hot and extra hot peri-peri sauce.

The ambience of the restaurant is fun and funky with a casual environment and the staff greets and treats you like you are a regular, even if you are visiting for the first-time. There are a number of seating options for you from high-chairs to the regular table-chair setting. Connaught Place being in the centre of Delhi, Nando’s C.P. thus becomes a perfect place for a casual outing with family and friends or just to catch up with some long lost friend over lunch.

Before starting your meal, you must be sure of your level on the Peri-ometer as that will decide the heat of the sauce in your order. Whether your taste buds are comfortable with flavours of lemon and herb, medium spice or you are the adventurous one who would prefer to go for the hot or extra hot category. With a number of options listed on the menu, I planned to start my meal with three chicken wings, with one being Medium, other Hot and the third one Extra Hot, so that I can see how exactly are the three of them different from each other.

Nando's review

If you like tasting some flavours with normal amount of spice then you must go for the flavorsome Medium sauce, whereas if you are a chilly lover and want your meal to have an influence of chilly rather than rest of the flavours, then Hot and Extra Hot should be your picks. Refreshmint was the perfect drink to accompany the Peri-Peri Chicken Wings which is a perfect blend of Mojito mint syrup, Sprite and fresh lemon juice.

Next on my platter was the very famous Espatada. The beautiful presentation made it look appetizing and the flavorsome. This involved five pieces of tender marinated chicken thighs with fresh peppers and flavours of Peri-Peri ruling in your mouth the whole time. It is served with two sides of your choice; I chose to go for the three bean salad and potato wedges. Three bean salad neutralized the flavours of Espatada and prepared the taste buds for the next. Citrus Bliss is another favourite drink at Nando’s which is again prepared with mint leaves, combined with grapefruit juice and sprite. Other must try dishes include the Chicken Breast Fillet burger, Strips and rice and their special, Cataplana Algarve. Veg Espatada, Paneer Kebabs along with more are the options for the vegetarians too.

Options for desserts weren’t many but the ones available are perfect for after-meal bliss. Out of the Carrot Cake, Creamy Cheesecake, Choco Cake and Ice Creams I opted to go for the choco cake filled with chocolate butter-cream melted chocolate. This was the perfect sweet end to the Nando’s experience which is worth visiting again and again.
