That’s Cool: Kulfiwala Comes to Chennai!

Review by Nikita Chawla

Everyone loves desserts. Especially those who resides in Chennai, a city that’s sultry most of the year. Whilst several options of summer coolers such as colas, ice-creams and mocktails are mostly sought after, the traditional Indian desserts of Mumbai, the rich and creamy kulfis have made their way into Chennai’s platter. Adding to the list of dessert spaces in Chennai is Kulfiwala which recently opened its doors at its store at Moores Road, Chennai.

The Décor: Located on the first floor, Kulfiwala shares space with KC Das. The little space is done in bright white and amber lighting that sets a peaceful ambience. The white earthen pots or ‘matkis’ and ropes add to the overall desi touch to the ambience.

Kulfiwala review

Dessert Taste: Blue Sky Dreamers was invited for a tasting session of Kulfiwala’s various creamy, tasty and yummy flavors of kulfi. We got to taste 5 of their kulfi flavours – Paan, Chikki, Sitafal, Anjeer and Bhai ka Best.

Paan Kulfi – Infused with beetle leaves and a hint of gulkand, Paan kulfi is an absolute delight. The flavor lasts longer in your taste buds.

Chikki Kulfi – Comprising chunks of crispy peanut candy, this kulfi was magic and a total win!

Sitafal Kulfi – The goodness of shredded custard apple pooled with the delightful kulfi weaves a significant flavor.

Anjeer Kulfi – If you’re a fan of figs, then this kulfi is a total treat. The kulfi is rich, milky and chewy.

Bhai ka Best – Creamy, crunchy, tasty, wholesome and divine, ‘Bhai ka best kulfi’ is infused with rich dry fruits that will leave you craving for more. Another must try!

Service: As it was a soft launch and a tasting session, the service and hospitality was very prompt and courteous.

Pricing: Prices start from Rs. 65 onwards (upto Rs. 85)

Verdict: We thoroughly enjoyed the paan and chikki kulfi. They’re totally delightful! If you’re someone who loves dry fruits and figs, you should definitely try Bhai ka Best as its rich and wholesome!

Address: 20 Moores Road, Thousand Lights, Chennai
