Food Review: Neung Roi
Visit Neung Roi if you love Thai food. Visit the restaurant if you don’t like the cuisine; you’ll start liking after a meal here! Offering authentic Thai, the menu takes inspiration from north, south, east and west of Thailand – spicy from Isan, salty from Lanna, fresh seafood from South and mild from the Central Plains. So what’s on offer are dishes you don’t usually see at the Thai restaurants around you. What’s more, the extensive menu comes with a detailed explanation on iPad. Too many choices can confuse you, so ask for recommendations.
Delicious salads set the tone for a delightful meal. We recommend Som Tum, which is raw papaya salad with peanut, chilli and light soya sauce. Slightly tangy, the salad is fresh in taste. For a prawn lover, we recommend Goong Thod Ha Rod from South Thailand. Fried prawns made in home made five flavour sauce are excellent. But what’s a must-have here is Pla Neung Manao – steamed fish with lime chilli sauce – from Isan region. Vegetarians need not be disappointed; 40 per cent menu has veg dishes. We highly recommend the salads and Phad Kee Maow Tohu from the main course. End the meal with Tub Tim Krob – something different and outstanding in taste.
The ambience, with golden hue, is ideal for a quiet meal with family and friends or a romantic date!
